I Wish 2018 set to be the best yet with 5,000 students expected between Cork & Dublin

Posted Jan 15, 2018

LSC are supporting I Wish again this year as part of our commitment to promote STEM as a subject choice to students in Ireland.

I Wish is an initiative to inspire, encourage and motivate young secondary school female students to pursue careers in STEM. The idea for the event was formed 4 years ago by 3 women working in Cork who were concerned by the low levels of women participating in STEM and the growing skills gap in the area.  The conference has gone from strength to strength, in 2015 the event was unleashed to 1,000 transition year girls in Cork City Hall, the expected reach this year is 5,000 as the event spans 4 days – 2 in Cork City Hall and 2 in the RDS in Dublin.

The line-up for 2018 is seriously impressive with major multinationals such as Google, Stryker, Janssen, Twitter to name a few all participating.  LSC are delighted to join industry leaders at the I Wish conference and be in the position to offer first hand advice to those seeking answers on what a future in STEM might look like.  Over the 4 days there will be interactive exhibitions, workshops, daily keynotes and engaging talks by inspirational women and men who have seen the opportunities for a great career in STEM. LSC’s Ops director Annette Keane will join the panel discussion in Cork, sharing her experience of working on both the client and consultancy side of the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry.

I Wish will be taking place on the following dates:

Cork – Cork City Hall – January 25th & 26th 2018

Dublin – RDS – January 29th & 30th 2018
