CENTRAL PHARMA TO EXPAND CONTRACT PACKAGING AND SUPPLY CHAIN SERVICES IN KERRY

BAUSCH HEALTH TO EXPAND CONTACT LENS MANUFACTURING FACILITIES IN WATERFORD AND ROCHESTER NY
The Company is adding multiple production lines at both sites to support the manufacture of its daily disposable silicone hydrogel (SiHy daily) contact lenses. The investment is set to create an additional 100 jobs at the Waterford facility. Full article>>

EDWARDS LIFESCIENCES ANNOUNCES NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY PARK, CASTLETROY, LIMERICK AS PERMANENT SITE OF NEW OPERATIONS FACILITY
Investment in the project is expected to amount to approx. €80 million and the purpose-built facility will manufacture delivery components for its transcatheter heart valve therapies. Once the facility is fully operational 600 jobs are set to be created. Full article >>

MSD TO CONSTRUCT A SECOND MANUFACTURING FACILITY AT EXISTING SITE IN CARLOW WITH THE CREATION OF 170 NEW JOBS
The new facility will focus on the production of vaccines and biologics and there will also be an expansion of warehouse and laboratory services at the site.  Full article >>

CHANELLE GROUP TO CREATE 350 JOBS IN GALWAY WITH €86M INVESTMENT
The jobs were announced following the opening of a new €10m manufacturing plant in Loughrea.  The 350 new positions are set to be created over the next 5 years. The group also announced plans for construction of a new €11 million facility to commence in 2019 for the manufacture of liquid and paste medicinal products for the US market. Full article >>

ABBOTT CREATE 500 NEW JOBS AT DONEGAL HEALTHCARE PLANT
Global Healthcare company Abbott, announced plans to expand its existing manufacturing facility in Donegal. The company’s Donegal facility is the sole manufacturing plant and distributor for Abbott’s test strips, used in its FreeStyle blood glucose monitoring meters, helping patients with diabetes manage their condition. Full article>>

PHIBRO ANIMAL HEALTH TO ESTABLISH NEW BIOTECH FACILITY IN SLIGO, CREATING UP TO 150 JOBS
The plant will be the company’s first biological manufacturing location in Europe and will allow Phibro to expand it’s presence here. Initially the manufacturing facility will focus on Phibro’s innovative line of vaccines for the treatment of a range of poultry diseases for sales globally. Full article >> 

FINESSE MEDICAL TO CREATE 200 JOBS IN LONGFORD AS PART OF EXPANSION
The announcement is linked to the firm’s multi-million-euro takeover last year by New York-listed Avery Dennison Corporation. Avery Dennison announced the construction of a 6,000 square meter facility expansion that will include a new clean room, integrated converting and manufacturing capabilities. Full article >> 

WUXI BIOLOGICS TO INVEST €325 MILLION TO BUILD LARGEST BIOMANUFACTURING FACILITY USING SINGLE-USE BIOREACTORS IN IRELAND

MSD ANNOUNCE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW BIOTECH FACILITY AT FORMER SWORDS SITE, CREATING UP TO 350 NEW JOBS
MSD is set to construct a new Biotechnology facility, which will be known as MSD Biotech, Dublin. This facility will be built on an existing MSD-owned property in Swords and will create up to 350 jobs. ABBVIE EXPANDS ONCOLOGY CAPABILITY AT BALLYTIVNAN FACILITY IN SLIGO
The $139 million (€113.6 million) investment in new sterile manufacturing technology at the Sligo site will help deliver promising treatments for cancers with significant unmet medical needs.
