Project Engineer (Materials/Coatings) is required by a multinational medical device company based in Cork. The Cork facility is a global centre for product development, manufacturing and supply chain.
The Project Engineer (Materials/Coatings) will be responsible for:
o Ownership for projects in New Product Development with a focus on coatings processes.
o Conduct detailed product / process design reviews.
o Design, develop and source tools, fixtures, gauges and special equipment for manufacturing processes.
o Implement design for manufacturability in new processes to minimise lifecycle cost.
o Deliver stable manufacturing process in line with stability metrics process.
o Implement cost effective material-related manufacturing solutions to drive engineering efficiencies.
o Perform materials charactiersation and technical reports on materials analysis activities.
o Apply appropriate statistical and validation techniques based on overall risk.
o Validation of new processes.
o Provide timely and accurate reporting on project activities.
The Project Engineer (Materials/Coatings) will require:
o BSc/BEng in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Biomedical Engineering (May consider BSc in Materials Science if the candidate has relevant Engineering Experience).
o Miniumim of two years in product / process development, ideally in Class II / III medical devices.
