Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer is required by a leading Medical Device Contract Manufacturer based in Cork. The Cork facility is a global strategic expert in the automated production of medium-high volume complex and disposable medical devices. The facility has been in operation for over 30 years. This is an opportunity to work in an ever changing and technologically advanced site.

Excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer with responsibility for:
o Supporting Production in a number of ways
o Achieve weekly targets on designated manufacturing lines
o Ensure equipment is performing to specification
o Identify & drive process improvement initiatives
o Develop the technical expertise of Line technicians
o Provide customer support through direct involvement on Customer Focus Teams
o Support Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve process capability and reduce cost
o Ensure the smooth introduction of new products in a high volume production environment
o Ability to apply and implement concepts of Lean Manufacturing

In this role the new Manufacturing Engineer will:
o Monitor machine performance in real time to maximise production output
o Specify, install and support production equipment
o PVT’s & Engineering Builds.
o ECO Implementation for designated products/lines.
o Support ongoing PM activities & techniques to minimise m/c downtime
o Support Line reconfiguration and machine moves
o On a daily basis, support the Process Engineering requirements of designated CFT’s
o As member of CFT’s play a key role in resolving critical process issues
o Provide detailed Technical reports on process issues
o Provide DFM input on New Product Developments

The Manufacturing Engineer requires:
o Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Electronic/Mechanical/Industrial)
o 3- years experience in a similar process-engineering role in hi-volume electronic manufacturing industry – strong on SMT/wave processing
o Excellent equipment knowledge and process debug troubleshoot skills
o Good communication and influencing skills
