NPI Manufacturing Engineer is required by a multinational medical device company based in Cork. The Cork facility is a global centre for product development, manufacturing and supply chain. The product & process innovation centre on site is a global strategic investment based on the skills and capabilities of the Cork staff. In this new role the NPI Engineer will:
o Lead product and process development for new product introductions. Collaborating with global R&D functions, the position will be responsible for ensuring optimum design for manufacturability in the development
o Be responsible for running all aspects of major manufacturing engineering projects.
o Represent the Operations team on product development projects, communicating requirements and proposing solutions.
o Implement design for manufacturability in new product designs to minimise lifecycle cost
o Manufacturing technical expert to global design groups
o Full project management responsibility for NPI projects

The NPI Engineer requires:
o A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required. A Masters or PhD is an advantage.
o A minimum of 3 years of experience in a general mechanical engineering role is required. Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment is essential.
o Experience using proven problem solving techniques (8D, TRIZ or equivalent)
o Proven experience in Root Cause analysis techniques and problem solving (8D, TRIZ or equivalent)
o Proficiency of GD&T and ASME Y14.5M 1994 standards
