Job Description

Experiences Automation Engineer required for biopharma facility based in Dublin . The facility is to consist of downstream processing trains, including ancillary equipment and all required utilities. In this role as Automation Engineer will be part of the control systems design and implementation team reporting to the Site Automation Lead. The successful candidate will be a member of the manufacturing systems team and will be responsible for all automation systems introduced as part of the project.

In this role as Automation Engineer you will:
o Work independently, or with third party system integrators, to design, configure and implement all automation systems into the new bio-pharma facility
o Develop and implement automation control strategies for the new facility
o Develop, review and approve design documentation
o Develop, review and approve all project standards
o Provide automation expertise to the engineering and operation departments on design and sustaining decisions
o Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure the future compliance and management of all automation systems
o Co-ordinate a team of engineers during development, commissioning activities.
o Ensure all automation systems are delivered in a compliant and qualified state
o Provide support for all validation/verification activities during the project
o Provide off-hours coverage (nights and weekends) as necessary to ensure control systems are able to support operations and meet project deadlines.

As and experiences Automation Engineer for this role you will have:
o Degree level qualification in Computer Science or Engineering
o 10 years or more within the automation industry supporting GMP environments and applications
o 5 years or more experience supporting a biopharma process (specifically downstream)
o Direct experience and in depth knowledge of the DeltaV process automation platform is required
o Proven experience in delivering large and complex DeltaV projects is required
o Proven experience in designing complex process automation configurations is required
o Direct experience in managing and working alongside system integrators
o Direct experience in supporting a manufacturing facility
o Experience maintaining controls networks and communications by Profibus and Ethernet.
o Experience with Siemens PLC’s, OSI PI data historian, SQL Server and virtualization platforms is a plus, as is IT experience.
